Morristown, N.J. - The College of Saint Elizabeth's women's basketball team (9-5, 7-2 NEAC) lead by 25 at half and never looked back, defeated Wilson College, 75-37 on Sunday afternoon.
Senior
Danesha Triplett finished with a game high 18 points and eight rebounds. Sophomore
Damaris King knocked down a career high five three-pointers in route to a 15 point performance.
Jasmine Poole added 11 points and ten rebounds while
Deja Ingram contributed with eight points and 13 rebounds.
To start the game, the Eagles ran off a 12-0 run, holding Wilson scoreless for the first 5:30 minutes of the game. After the Phoenix first field goal, the Eagles ended the quarter on a 9-0 run to take a 21-2 lead into the second quarter. The Eagles defense held Wilson to just 8% shooting from the floor in the quarter.
The Eagles continued their strong game in the second quarter, ballooning the lead to 24 halfway through the period.
Donnae Days ended the quarter with a layup to give CSE a 35-10 lead heading into the break.
The closest Wilson got in the third quarter was 21 before the Eagles ended the half on a 15-4 run to take a 53-21 lead into the final period. In the fourth quarter, the Eagles stretched the lead to as high as 41 before taking the contest by 38.
CSE returns to action on Tuesday when it hosts Bryn Athyn at 6 pm.
