Eagles Pick up Third Conference Win Over Wilson, 76-58

Morristown, N.J. - Cameron Tucker scored a career high 19 points as the College of Saint Elizabeth's men's basketball team (4-9, 3-6 NEAC) ran past Wilson College, 76-58 on Sunday afternoon.

Tucker's 19 points came on 6-8 from the field, including 4-6 from beyond the arc. Tino Gonzalez also added a career high 16 points, including four three-pointers. Jason Saldiveri had a near triple-double, finishing with 18 points, 11 rebounds and nine assists.

Tucker got the Eagles going to open the game, knocking down two three-pointers to give CSE a 12-2 lead with 14:32 remaining in the half. The Phoenix would score the next eight points to slice the lead to two, however the Eagles would roll off the following seven points to regain a nine point lead. Late in the half, Tucker banged home his third three-pointer of the half to give the Eagles a 33-21 lead. Wilson would score the last four points as CSE took a 33-25 lead into halftime.

After the Eagles opened a 12 point lead two minutes into the second half, Wilson clawed their way back, slimming the deficit to 37-33 with 16:27 remaining. After both teams traded buckets over the next seven minutes, the Eagles went on a 7-0 run to up the lead to 54-52 with just under six minutes to play. The Eagles stretched the lead to as much as 15 before Wilson scored six straight points to get with nine. The Eagles would tighten up on defense, outscoring Wilson 17-8 over the remaining 3:38, taking the contest by 18.

CSE returns to action on Tuesday when it hosts Bryn Athyn at 8 pm.
