Morristown, N.J. - The College of Saint Elizabeth's men's basketball team (3-8, 2-5 NEAC) was bested by Lancaster Bible, 96-82 on Thursday evening.
Fresh off his 51 point outburst on Tuesday night,
Jason Saldiveri once again led the Eagles, finishing with 25 points, five assists, five steals and 4 rebounds.
Marlon Hart poured in 17 points while Cam Tucker added 12 points.
With the game tied at seven, Lancaster went on a 10-1 run to open up a 17-8 lead with 15:09 remaining in the first half. The Chargers continued their hot start, going on a 14-3 run over the next five minutes to take a 31-14 lead. Despite trailing by as much as 21, CSE ended the half on a 14-3 run to slice the deficit to 45-33 heading into the halftime break.
In the second half,
Michael Manso knocked down a jumper seven minutes in to get the Eagles within ten. Despite the Chargers continuing their hot shooting from beyond the arc, the Eagles continued to hang tough, but was not able to get the lead below double-digits. CSE made a couple of late buckets before dropping the contest, 96-82.
CSE returns to action on Saturday when it hosts Gallaudet University at 3 pm.
