La Plume, N.Y. - The College of Saint Elizabeth's lacrosse team (0-1, 0-0 NEAC) dropped their season opener to Keystone College, 17-6 on Monday afternoon.
The Eagles got out to the early 1-0 lead after
Ashley Morera put home her first goal of the season off an assist from
Riley Hosey. After Keystone scored the next four goals, Hosey scored her first goal of the season to get the Eagles within two. Keystone added the next eight goals of the first half to take a 12-2 lead into halftime.
Hosey added two more goals in the second half to record her first hat trick of the season.
Kassandra Ortiz added her first two goals of the season in the second half but it was not enough as Keystone took the contest 17-6.
Maria Trujillo notched 15 saves in net for the Eagles.
CSE returns to action on Wednesday when they travel to Rosemont College for a 4 pm start.
