Allentown, Pa. - The College of Saint Elizabeth's lacrosse team (1-3, 0-0 NEAC) picked up their first win of the season at Cedar Crest College, 19-14 on Thursday afternoon.
Nicole Morera got the Eagles on the board four minutes into the game giving the Eagles a 1-0 lead. After Cedar Crest scored three of the next four goals,
Riley Hosey,
Amanda Inacio and
Kiana Cunningham all notched their first goals of the game to give the Eagles a 5-3 lead. After the Eagles and Falcons traded the next four goals,
Ta-Tionnah Curtis scored her first career goal to give the Eagles a 10-7 halftime lead.
Cunningham and Hosey scored the first two goal of the second half to open up a five goal lead for the Eagles. After the Falcons cut the lead to four, Inacio and Ortiz scored their third goals of the game to give the Eagles their largest lead of the game at 15-9. Inacio, Morera, Hosey and Curtis would each tack on another goal, propelling the Eagles to the 19-14 victory.
Hosey finished the day with four goals and two assists while Inacio added four goals. Ortiz, Cunningham and Morera each added a hat trick on offense. Curtis notched her first two career goals for the Eagles. In net,
Maria Trujillo totaled four saves in route to her first career victory in net.
CSE returns to action on Saturday when they travel to SUNY Poly for a 3 pm start.
