Jasmine Poole scored a career-high 25 points as the College of Saint Elizabeth (4-6, 4-1 NEAC) ran past Wilson College, 96-57, on Saturday afternoon.
After falling behind early,
Danesha Triplett gave the Eagles an 11-10 lead after knocking down her first jumper of the game. CSE used the next three minutes to go on a 13-2 run to take their first double-digit lead of the game at 24-14.
Deja Ingram added a layup with 30 seconds remaining in the quarter to give CSE a 26-17 lead at the end of the period.
Damaris King sank the first bucket of the second quarter for the Eagles to give CSE a 28-17 lead. With 7:37 remaining in the half, Poole continued her hot shooting, knocking down a corner three-pointer to put the Eagles back up by 10. The Eagles scored the next 13 points as their 16-0 run gave CSE a commanding 48-22 lead. CSE would add late free throws to take a 55-24 lead heading into halftime.
The Eagles continued to blitz Wilson in the second half as
Ashley Pledger swished home her first three-pointer of the game to give CSE a 61-30 lead. Freshman
LaChe Robinson made a driving layup to give the Eagles their largest lead of the game at 33. CSE continued to gel on offense, taking a 75-40 lead into the fourth period.
The Eagles opened the fourth quarter on an 11-3 run to open up an 86-43 lead.
Sharolin Sanders drained an outside jumper with 2:30 remaining in the game to give CSE a 45-point lead. Sanders added the final four points of the game for the Eagles as CSE defeated Wilson, 96-57.
Poole scored a career-high 25 points and grabbed 11 rebounds in the victory.
Deja Ingram added 15 points and six rebounds while
Sharolin Sanders recorded her first double-double of the season, finishing with 12 points and 15 rebounds.
The Eagles look for their fifth conference win of the season tomorrow when they travel to Washington, D.C. to take on Gallaudet University at 12 pm.
