Bryn Athyn, P.A. - Kristina Clark scored 21 points and grabbed 15 boards as Bryn Athyn defeated the College of Saint Elizabeth, 66-52 on Tuesday evening.
Clark was one of three players to reach double-figure scoring for the Lions, while
Ashley Pledger paced the Eagles with 15 points and 4 rebounds.
After falling behind early, the Eagles ended the first quarter on a 10-2 run to take a 17-11 lead into the second period. CSE could not carry the momentum into the second quarter as Bryn Athyn scored the first seven points to regain an 18-17 lead. Pledger added a driving layup for the Eagles to tie the game at 23 late in the second period, however the Lions would score six of the final nine points to take a 29-26 lead into the halftime break.
After falling behind by five in the third quarter,
LaChe Robinson kept the Eagles afloat by knocking down a jumper to tie the score up at 40. Clark continued to dominate for the Lions, making a late layup to give Bryn Athyn a 46-42 lead at the end of the third period.
The Lions opened up an eight point lead to begin the fourth quarter but the Eagles would fight back as Pledger buried a three-point to slice the deficit to 50-47. Over the next six minutes, the Lions would go on a 12-3 run to open up a 12 point lead, which the Eagles would not be able to come back from.
Jasmine Poole added 13 points and 7 rebounds while
Deja Ingram contributed with 5 points and 12 rebounds for the Eagles.
CSE (4-8, 4-3 NEAC) returns to action on Saturday when they host Penn College at 1 pm.
