Wayne, N.J.- The College of Saint Elizabeth's volleyball team (1-2, 0-0 NEAC) dropped the first leg of the tri-match to William Paterson before defeating St. Joseph's Brooklyn for their first win of the season.
In the first match against William Paterson, the Eagles did not get much going, dropping the match in 3 sets (9-25, 18-25, 15-25).
Carolina Marte lead the Eagles with 8 kills and 8 digs, while Mikeala Gongora added 7 kills.
Nicole Morera also added a game high 23 assists for CSE.
In the second match against St. Joseph's Brooklyn, the Eagles jumped out early and never looked back, winning the match 3-0 (25-18, 27-25, 25-6). In the second set, CSE had 16 kills, which is a season high for kills in a set. Marte lead the Eagles again in the second match with 14 kills. Morera added a career high 33 assists while
Kiana Cunningham finished with 7 digs and 6 kills for the Eagles.
The win marks the first in the career for head coach
