Washington, D.C.- The College of Saint Elizabeth's softball team (10-23, 4-13 NEAC) swept a pair of games from Gallaudet University, 6-4 and 13-4 on Saturday afternoon.

In game 1, Alexandria Garcia smashed a 2 run home run to left center in the top of the 3rd inning to give the Eagles a 2-0 lead. The Eagles added a run in the top of the 5th off a wild pitch from the Bison. Alesandria DeSapio followed up with an RBI single to increase CSE's lead to 4-0. Garcia managed to shut down the Bison through the first 4 innings, hold Gallaudet scoreless. Gallaudet managed to score 4 runs in the bottom of the 5th to tie the score up at 4.

In the top of the 7th, Garcia lined a go ahead RBI single to give the Eagles a 5-4 lead. Kayla Gonzalez would add an RBI in the inning to open up a 2 run lead for the Eagles. Garcia would shut the Bison down in the bottom of the 7th, giving the Eagles the 6-4 win.

In game 2, Alyssabel Garcia gave the Eagles a 1-0 lead with an RBI single. Leading 1-0 in the 3rd inning, Christina Scolaro lined an RBI single up the middle giving the Eagles a 2-0 lead. Later in the inning, Kayla Gonzalez lined a 2 run single giving CSE a 4-0 lead. On the mound, Scolaro shut the Bison down through the first 4 innings. In the top of the 4th, Danesha Triplett smacked a 2 run single to left field to open up a 6-0 lead. After the Eagles added another run in the inning, the Bison would get 4 of the runs back in the bottom of the 5th to close the gap to 7-4. Alyssabel Garcia would not let Gallaudet get any closer, hitting a 2 run homer run in both the 6th and 7th inning as CSE took the game 13-4.

The Eagles return to action for Senior Day on Sunday when they host Gallaudet University at 11 am.
