Morristown, N.J.- The College of Saint Elizabeth's softball team (13-23, 7-13 NEAC) Swept a pair of games vs. Gallaudet University, 12-5 and 9-3 on Senior Day.
On the mound for the Eagles, Alexandria Garcia threw an easy 1-2-3 first inning in game 1. The Bison got on the board in the top of the second to take a 1-0 lead. After a scoreless bottom of the first inning, Kayla Gonzalez got the Eagles on the board with an RBI single up the middle to tie the game up at 1. In the bottom of the second, Valerie Lasko blooped an RBI single to right field to give the Eagles a 2-1 lead. After CSE scored another run, Alyssabel Garcia lined a 2 run single to center field to open up a 5-1 lead.
In the top of the 4th inning, the Bison clawed their way back by scoring 3 runs and tying the score up at 5. In the bottom half of the inning, Christina Scolaro smacked a RBI triple to center field to give give the Eagles a 6-5 lead. Alyssabel Garcia added a RBI single of her own later in the inning to give CSE a 7-5 lead heading to the 5th inning.  In the 6th inning Scolaro lined another BRI single to give CSE an 8-5 lead. 2 batters later, Alyssabel Garcia lined a double to the right field wall to give the Eagles a 4 run lead. Kayla Gonzalez added 2 run triple in the inning to open up a 12-5 lead for the Eagles. Gallaudet was unable to score any runs in the top of the 7th as the Eagles took game 1, 12-5.
In game 2, the Bison jumped out to a 1-0 lead when Chelsea Lee hit a home run to center field. In the bottom of the first, the Garcia sisters lined back to back RBI singles to give the Eagles a 2-1 lead. In the bottom of the second, Scolaro roped a 2 run single into the gap to open up a 4-1 lead. CSE would add one more run in the inning to tale a 5-1 lead into the 3rd inning. The Bison cut the lead in half by scoring 2 runs in the top of the third inning to close the gap to 5-3.
In the bottom of the 4th, Lasko lined her 4th career home run to left field on senior day, giving the Eagles a 6-3 lead. To lead off the bottom of the 5th, Alyssabel Garcia smacked her 8th home run of the season to right field to give the Eagles a 7-3 lead. Later in the inning, Danesha Triplett crushed a 2-run home run to left center to give the Eagles a 9-3 lead. The Eagles would hold the Bison scoreless in the 7th inning, winning the final game of the year 9-3.
In between the 2 games, seniors Valerie Lasko and Alesandria DeSapio were honored with a framed picture to commemorate their 4 years on the Eagles softball team. CSE finishes the year on a 5 game winning streak to close with a 13-23 record and 7-13 in the NEAC.
