Abington, P.A.- The College of Saint Elizabeth's softball team (8-18, 2-10 NEAC) dropped a pair of games to Penn State Abington, 6-1 and 12-5 on Saturday afternoon.
In game 1, the Eagles got out to a 1-0 lead when
Christina Scolaro lined a single to center driving home
Valerie Lasko. Abington took the lead in the 4th inning after scoring 2 runs to take a 2-1 lead. Leading 3-1 in the 6th, Abington hit a 3 run homer to take a 6-1 lead. CSE was unable to score in the top of the 7th, dropping game the game 6-1.
In game 2, CSE got out to an early 2-0 lead.
Kayla Gonzalez followed up with an RBI single to give the Eagles a 3-0 lead. Scolaro capped off the inning by lining a RBI double in the gap to give the Eagles a 4-0 1st inning lead. CSE could not hold the lead for long however as Abington scored 6 runs in the bottom of the 2nd to take a 6-4 lead.
Alesandria DeSapio got the Eagles to within 6-5 in the 5th inning with an RBI groundout. Abington would add 6 more runs in the 6th inning to take the game 12-5.
CSE returns to action on Sunday when they host FDU at 12 pm.
