Myrtle Beach, S.C.- The College of Saint Elizabeth's softball team (1-5, 0-0 NEAC) dropped a pair of tough games on Thursday.
Rivier College got on the board first, scoring a run in the top of the 1
st inning to take a 1-0 lead. In the bottom of the 1
st,
Valerie Lasko lead things off by driving a triple to the right-center field wall.
Christina Scolaro followed suit with a SAC fly to tie the game up at 1. Rivier would push across another run in the top of the 2
nd inning to take a 2-1 lead over CSE.
The Eagles would strand runners on base in the next 2 innings, unable to get a hit with runners in scoring position. Rivier would add a run in the top of the 3
rd to take a 3-1 lead. The Eagles would threaten again in the 4
th inning, however they left the bases loaded as Scolaro popped out to short. Â Rivier pushed 2 more across in the top of the 6
th to open up a 5-1 lead. Rivier would add one more in the top of the 7
th and take the game 6-1.

In game 2 against Baptist Bible,
Christina Scolaro scored the first run of the game on a wild pitch, giving the Eagles a 1-0 lead. After Baptist Bible tied the game up in the bottom of the inning,
Alesandria DeSapio led off the top of the 2
nd with a triple which resulted in an RBI single by
Morgan Sim. Leading 5-3 in the top of the 4
th,
Alexandria Garcia singled home
Valerie Lasko to open up a 3 run lead.
Alyssabel Garcia,
Kayla Gonzalez, and
Alesandria DeSapio added 3 straight RBI singles to open up an 8-3 lead.
Danesha Triplett capped the inning with an RBI walk to give the Eagles a 9-3 lead.
After Baptist Bible scored 2 runs in the bottom of the 4
th to within 9-5. Leading 10-5 in the bottom of the 6
th, Baptist Bible added 3 runs in the inning to get to within 10-8. Scolaro gave the Eagles an insurance run in the top of the 7
th with an RBI single. Despite the insurance run, Baptist Bible scored 4 runs in the bottom half of the inning, winning the game 12-11.
The Eagles return to action on Friday when they play Penn State Altoona at 9:30 am followed by Principia College at 1:30 pm.
