Myrtle Beach, S.C.- The College of Saint Elizabeth's softball team (1-3, 0-0 NEAC) dropped a tough game to Hilbert before winning their first game of the season in a dramatic come from behind win over Bay Path.

In the top of the 1st, Danesha Triplett allowed a runner to get to third before recording a fly out to end the inning and get out of an early jam. The Eagles were unable to muster anything at the plate in the bottom of the inning, going down 1-2-3 for a scoreless first inning. Triplett managed to get out of another jam in the second inning as Hilbert left 2 on to end the inning. In the bottom half of the inning, Alyssabel Garcia became the first Eagle to reach base after walking. Unfortunately, the Eagles were unable to get any across the plate.

Hilbert finally broke the tie in top of the 3rd, scoring 2 runs to take a 2-0 lead. In the bottom half of the inning, Kayla Gonzalez roped a single to center to score Alex Garcia and cut the deficit to 2-1. The game would remain scoreless until the top of the 7th inning when Hilbert would plate another run across to take a 3-1 lead into the bottom of the 7th inning.

Alexandria Garcia reached base with 2 outs in the 7th to bring the tying run to the plate. Alyssabel Garcia roped a line drive to first which was snagged by the first basement, giving Hilbert College the 3-1 victory.

After a scoreless top of the first, Christina Scolaro and Alexandria Garcia recorded back to back doubles to give the Eagles a 1-0 lead. Alesandria DeSapio followed suit with an RBI single of her own to give CSE a 2-0 lead. After a wild pitch, the Eagles finished with 3 runs in the inning.

In the bottom of the second, the Eagles plated 2 more across when Alex Garcia had a sac fly to left followed by a wild throw giving the Eagles a 5-0 lead. After Bay Path scored 3 runs in the 4th, the Eagles answered with 2 runs in the bottom half thanks to RBI double by Scolaro. The Eagles couldn't hold the lead for long however as Bay Path scored 4 runs in the top of the 6th inning to tie the game up at 7.

Neither team was able to score in the 7th inning and the game headed into extras all squared at 7. Bay Path would push 4 runs across in the 8th to take an 11-7 lead.
