Ashley Pledger scored a career high 38 points to lead the Eagles to an 85-73 win over Bryn Athyn College on Friday night.
The Eagles (13-11, 10-8 NEAC), jumped out to an early 7-2 after
Amerisse Rogers knocked down a three-pointer from the corner. Fresh off her 1,000th point game,
Ashley Pledger knocked down a three-pointer of her own at the 15:20 mark to give CSE the 15-11 lead. Bryn Athyn would mount a big run to take a 28-20 lead with 8 minutes remaining in the first half. Pledger would not let the Eagles falter, scoring 7 straight points to get CSE to within 31-29. She would continue her stellar first half, knocking down a three-pointer with 56 seconds left to give the Eagles a 37-36 lead going into halftime.
Pledger picked up where she left off in the first half, scoring the first 6 points for the Eagles in the second half to open up a 43-36 lead.
Danesha Triplett would have one of her better games of the year, scoring 2 of her 20 points at the 10:12 mark to give the Eagles a 64-58 lead. Leading 73-69 with 2:30 remaining,
Alexandria Garcia knocked down a dagger three-pointer to give the Eagles a 7 point lead. Triplett would make back to back buckets with 1:15 left to open up a 10 point lead for CSE. Pledger would close out the game by knocking down 2 free throws to give the Eagles the 85-73 win.
Ashley Pledger finished with a career high 38 points.
Danesha Triplett added 20 points and 9 rebounds. The Eagles find themselves in a must win game on Saturday to keep their playoff hopes alive. The Eagles host Penn State Abington at 1 pm on Senior Day.
