Mawah, N.J. - The College of Saint Elizabeth's basketball team (0-2, 0-0 NEAC) was bested by Ramapo College 72-46 in the consolation game of the Roadrunner Tip-Off on Saturday afternoon.
The Eagles hung around early, trailing 20-14 after the first quarter. Ramapo College started pulling away in the second quarter, starting the quarter with a 9-1 run to take a 29-15 lead. With 3:05 remaining in the first half,
MaryJane Gutierrez knocked down a three-pointer to trim the lead to 31-20. Ramapo scored five of the final six points to take a 36-21 lead into the break.
CSE continued to struggle from the field in the second half, shooting just 20.3% from the field for the game. The Eagles were unable to mount any runs in the second half, dropping the contest 72-46.
Danesha Triplett recorded her first double-double of the season, finishing with 11 points and 11 rebounds.
Deja Ingram added eight points and eight rebounds, while
Jasmine Pooled netted nine points.
The Eagles return to action on December 5th when they host Gallaudet University in their home opener at 2 pm.
