Morristown, N.J. - The College of Saint Elizabeth's volleyball team (9-7, 4-5 NEAC) dropped a tough match to Penn State Berks, 3-0 (17-25, 11-25, 10-25) on Sunday afternoon.
Trailing 14-7 in the first set,
Nicole Morera hit a perfectly placed serve to get the Eagles within 6. Despite the Eagles cutting the lead to 20-16, Berks won 5 of the next 6 points to take the set 25-17. After dropping the second set 25-11, the Eagles couldn't get much offense going in the third set, dropping the contest 3-0.
Nicole Morera finished with 20 assists, 3 kills, and 2 service aces.
Carolina Marte lead the Eagles at the net, finishing with 10 kills and 11 digs.
The match was the 8th and final game as part of NEAC South pool play hosted by CSE over the weekend. CSE is now 9-7 overall and 4-5 in the NEAC. The Eagles return to action on Wednesday when they take on Keystone College at 7 pm.
