Morristown, N.J. - The College of Saint Elizabeth's volleyball team (9-6, 4-4 NEAC) split a pair of matches on Saturday, dropping the match to Lancaster Bible 3-0 before downing Penn College 3-1.
During the first match against Lancaster Bible, the Eagles fell behind early and couldn't catch up, dropping the contest 3-0 (14-25, 15-25, 19-25).
Kiana Cunningham lead the Eagles on offense, finished with 7 kills and 2 service aces while
Nicole Morera added 19 assists and 3 service aces.
In the second match, the Eagles dominated from the start, taking down Penn College 3-1 (25-18, 25-19, 20-25, 25-20).
Christy Marte dominated on offense, finishing with 13 kills and 6 blocked shots.
Nicole Morera added a career high 46 assists and 5 service aces. Not to be outdone, Christy's twin sister
Carolina Marte had a stellar game of her own, finishing with 10 kills, 4 service aces and a game high 28 digs.
The Eagles improved to 9-6 on the season and 4-4 in the conference. The matches were 2 of 6 games hosted by CSE as part of NEAC South pool play weekend. CSE will be hosting 2 more matches tomorrow with the Eagles taking on Penn State Berks at 12 pm.
