Morristown, N.J.- The College of Saint Elizabeth's basketball team (8-8, 6-5 NEAC) could not handle first place Lancaster Bible, dropping the contest 67-52 on Wednesday night.
The Chargers of Lancaster Bible jumped out to a quick lead as an 11-0 run helped them open a 13-2 lead just 5 minutes into the game. The Eagles would climb back into the game as
Sharolin Sanders knocked down the first of her three three-pointers to cut the deficit to 13-5. Trailing 21-9, The Eagles ripped off the next 13 points to take their first lead of the game at 22-21. Lancaster would regain a 3 point lead before
Alivia Roseboro made a driving layup to get the Eagles to within 1. The Chargers would close out the half with the last 5 points to take a 30-24 lead into the break.
Lancaster Bible opened the second half strong, going on a 15-2 run to open up the biggest lead of the game at 45-26.
Ashley Morera would help lead the comeback for the Eagles, scoring a season high 8 points to get the deficit all the way down to 7. Lancaster however would score the next 12 points to regain a 19 point advantage.
Valerie Lasko made the final layup of the game for the Eagles but it wasn't enough as they fell to Lancaster Bible 67-52.
Sharolin Sanders had a team high 11 points including 3 three-pointers.
Alivia Roseboro added 8 points, 5 assists, and 3 steals. The Eagles return to action on Saturday when they host NEAC opponent Penn College at 1 pm.
