Cobleskill, N.Y.- The College of Saint Elizabeth's basketball team (8-7, 5-4 NEAC) got a much needed road win over Cobleskill College, 64-58 on Sunday afternoon.
Ashley Pledger scored 5 straight points to give the Eagles an early 9-4 lead.
Alivia Roseboro made a layup in the paint to give the Eagles their first double-digit lead of the game at 21-11. Following the 10 point lead, Cobleskill would go on a 7-0 run to get to within 3 of the lead. With 2:03 remaining in the first half,
Alexandria Garcia knocked down her second three-pointer of the game to give the Eagles a 34-24 lead. Cobleskill would score the last 4 points of the half as the Eagles took a 34-28 lead into the break.
Pledger got the Eagles going in the second half, knocking down a jumper to open up the largest lead of the day at 43-32. With 12:30 remaining, Cobleskill cut the lead to as little as 3 before Pledger nailed a three-pointer to give the Eagles a 48-42 lead. The Eagles defense continued to stifle the Tigers in the second half, holding them to just 28% shooting. The Eagles would regain their double-digit lead with 5 minutes remaining and never look back, defeating Cobleskill 64-58.
Ashley Pledger lead the Eagles with 21 points and 9 boards.
Alivia Roseboro had one of her best games of the season, adding 18 points, 12 rebounds, 6 assists, and 6 steals. The Eagles improve to one game over .500 including a 5-4 NEAC record.
CSE returns to action on Tuesday when they host Lancaster Bible at 7 pm.
