Lancaster, P.A.- The College of Saint Elizabeth's basketball team (5-5, 4-2 NEAC) dropped a hard fought battle to NEAC opponent Lancaster Bible, 61-54 on Tuesday night,
Lancaster Bible jumped out to an early 6-0 lead before
Sharolin Sanders got the Eagles on the board by nailing a jumper. Trailing 18-13,
Ashley Pledger scored 6 straight points to give the Eagles their first lead of the game at 19-18.
Danesha Triplett would score her first basket of the game with 2:30 remaining to tie the game up at 23. Lancaster would score the final 4 points of the half to take a 27-23 lead into the break.
Despite Lancaster starting out strong in the second half,
Amerisse Rogers knocked down a jumper to get the Eagles to within 7. The Eagles struggled from the field in the second half as Lancaster opened up their first double digit lead of the game at the 13:30 mark. CSE could not manage to cut into the lead until 2 minutes remaining in the game when Pledger scored the final 8 points for the Eagles. It would not be enough however, as the Eagles fell 61-54.
Ashley Pledger finished with 30 points and 5 steals.
Alivia Roseboro finished with 7 assists and 4 steals. The Eagles return to action on Thursday when they host Bryn Athyn at 7 pm.
