Hector Colón has been connected to the game of volleyball for over 30 years and has coached players from ages 6 to 24 across club, high school, NJCAA (DII/DIII), and NCAA DIII levels. He started coaching with VB Rags Academy off and on from 2012 through the 2022/23 season. During his tenure there, he also held coaching positions at Morris Catholic High School, Union County College (now known as Union College), and now Saint Elizabeth since the 2022 season.
His time with VB Rags presented great opportunities to coach and cover both indoor and beach volleyball. Over many years he has photographed, interviewed, and contributed articles about key players, teams, clubs, etc in the volleyball universe. One of the highlights of his career came in August of 2021 when he assisted a beach volleyball clinic held by his former club and led by legends of the sport Mike and Patty Dodd.
