Sudeep Tumma was hired by Head Coach James Adams staff in August 2024.

"Coach Deep has been an instant positive impact to our program and is a rising star in the business," said Head Coach James Adams. "He has earned the respect of our players with his high basketball IQ and I am excited to see how his career develops here at Saint Elizabeth!"

Before Saint Elizabeth, Tumma was an assistant coach for Middlesex College under Winston Smith, who took over as Head Coach with over 20 years of DI experience. The 2023-24 season marked Smith's second year with the Blue Colts as well as the of Middlesex's inaugural season ascending from DIII to DII in the NJCAA ranks. The Blue Colts finished with a 20-9 record that season, which included winning the regular season Garden State Athletic Conference title while Smith was named GSAC Men's Basketball Coach of the Year. Middlesex also had three players named to the All-Region 19 Team.

Tumma began his coaching career in August 2022 as an assistant under longtime Piscataway High School Head Coach and Rutgers alum Darius Griffin. In his one year with the Chiefs, they advanced to the quarterfinals of the GMC Tournament.

Prior to beginning his coaching career, Tumma graduated from Oklahoma State University in May 2022 as a Sports Media major. While in school, he worked at The O'Colly, OSU's student-newspaper, serving as the Sports Editor for two semesters.

During this time at the O'Colly, Tumma had the chance to interview many prominent figures such as OSU Coach Mike Boynton, former Oklahoma University Coach Lon Kruger, ESPN Analysts Jay Bilas, Dick Vitale and Fran Fraschilla and many more. He also placed Top 10 in the Hearst Journalism Awards Program twice during his time in college.

A lifetime New Jersey native, Tumma was born and raised in South Brunswick, NJ.
