MORRISTOWN, N.J. — April 1, 2026 — The University of Saint Elizabeth men's volleyball team delivered a commanding performance Wednesday night, sweeping Medgar Evers College in straight sets, 25-8, 25-5, 25-13, at St. Joseph's Hall.
The Eagles controlled the match from the opening serve, finishing with a highly efficient .419 team hitting percentage while totaling 35 kills on 62 attempts with just nine errors. Saint Elizabeth also applied relentless pressure from the service line, recording 22 service aces in the three-set win.
Kennedy Ibezim led the offensive charge with a match-high 16 kills, adding three service aces and 19 total points. Akash Jenkins turned in another strong all-around effort with seven kills, four service aces, and 11 points, while Enock Joachim chipped in four kills, four service aces, and eight points.
Setter Randel Romero orchestrated the offense with 31 assists, helping the Eagles hit above .360 in all three sets, including a blistering .529 attack percentage in the third set. Saint Elizabeth also received solid contributions from Kyzier Kelly, who posted three kills, five service aces, and eight points, as well as Carlos Saldana, who added two kills, one ace, and three points.
Saint Elizabeth seized control early in the opening set, using a fast start and strong serving run to build momentum before cruising to a 25-8 win. The Eagles were even more dominant in the second frame, overwhelming Medgar Evers with 10 service aces in the set en route to a 25-5 victory. In the third, Saint Elizabeth remained in command, closing out the match with an 11-kill, .529 hitting effort for the 25-13 final.
Defensively, the Eagles were steady in serve receive, posting a .904 reception percentage, while also totaling 31 digs. Libero Jameel Wright anchored the back row with 10 digs.
