Saint Elizabeth University Men’s Volleyball Competes in Tri-Match at West Quad Center

BROOKLYN, N.Y. – The Saint Elizabeth University men's volleyball team competed in a tri-match Saturday at the West Quad Center, facing Penn State Schuylkill and Brooklyn College.


Match 1: Penn State Schuylkill 3, Saint Elizabeth 2

(27-29, 24-26, 25-13, 25-18, 16-14)

Saint Elizabeth opened the day with a five-set battle against Penn State Schuylkill. The Eagles jumped out to a strong start, taking the first two sets in dramatic fashion, 29-27 and 26-24.

Carlos Saldana led the Eagles with 11 kills and 13 points, while Kennedy Ibezim added eight kills and 13 points. Enock Joachim contributed seven kills and 14 points, and Ih'Jamir Williams finished with eight total points at the net. Setter Randel Romero distributed 24 assists in the match to guide the offense.

After Penn State Schuylkill rallied to win sets three and four, the Eagles forced a decisive fifth set. Saint Elizabeth battled point-for-point, but the Nittany Lions narrowly secured the 16-14 win to claim the match.

The Eagles finished the contest with 31 kills and nine team blocks in a resilient effort.


Match 2: Brooklyn 3, Saint Elizabeth 0

(25-16, 25-14, 25-20)

In the second match of the tri-match, Saint Elizabeth faced host Brooklyn College. The Eagles recorded 13 kills and 45 digs as a team, with Kennedy Ibezim pacing the offense with six kills. Carlos Saldana added four kills, while Enock Joachim contributed five points.

Saint Elizabeth showed improvement as the match progressed, posting its strongest offensive stretch in the third set. However, Brooklyn's consistent attack proved to be the difference as the Bulldogs secured the straight-set victory.
