MORRISTOWN, N.J. – The Saint Elizabeth University women's basketball team earned an important conference win Wednesday night, defeating Centenary University 70-62 at St. Joseph's Hall.
Saint Elizabeth built a narrow 27-24 lead after the first quarter and maintained control into halftime, leading 38-34 at the break. The Eagles delivered their best stretch of the game in the third quarter, outscoring Centenary 21-11 to open up a double-digit advantage. Centenary made a late push in the fourth, but Saint Elizabeth held strong to close out the win.
Ahjionae Cobb once again led the Eagles, posting 21 points and seven assists. Elyssa Russo added 20 points, including five three-pointers, while Ty'la Holmes contributed 12 points.
Saint Elizabeth held Centenary to just 1-for-10 shooting from beyond the arc, helping the Eagles maintain control throughout the second half.
