MORRISTOWN, N.J. – The Saint Elizabeth University men's basketball team earned a strong home victory Monday night, defeating Brooklyn College 73-62 at Saint Joseph Gym.
Saint Elizabeth held a narrow advantage in the first half, taking a 31-28 lead into the break. The Eagles expanded their lead in the second half by outscoring Brooklyn 42-34, using fast-paced offense and strong defensive pressure to create scoring opportunities.
Josiah King led the Eagles with 17 points and nine rebounds, while Tye-Rell Monroe and Joseph Mazzola each scored 13 points. Mazzola also knocked down three three-pointers and went a perfect 4-for-4 from the free throw line.
The Eagles received major production from their bench, outscoring Brooklyn 38-26 in reserve points, and Saint Elizabeth finished with an impressive 33 fast break points.
