Saint Elizabeth Falls to Marymount (VA) in Conference Opener

Morristown, N.J.- The Saint Elizabeth University women's basketball team opened conference play Tuesday evening at St. Joseph's Hall, competing against Marymount (VA) in a 90–57 setback.

The Eagles faced an early challenge as Marymount built momentum in the opening quarter, but Saint Elizabeth continued to battle on both ends of the floor and showed resilience throughout the contest. Despite trailing at halftime, the Eagles responded with their strongest stretch of play in the third quarter, nearly matching the visitors point-for-point while finding better offensive rhythm.

Junior Ahjionae Cobb led the Eagles with a team-high 18 points, attacking the basket and providing a consistent scoring presence. Elyssa Russo chipped in 12 points, while Yasminah White posted a double-double with 11 points and 10 assists, anchoring the offense and setting the tone in transition.

Saint Elizabeth showed improved ball movement during the second half and competed on the glass, highlighted by a productive third quarter that reflected the team's ability to adjust and respond. Defensively, the Eagles worked to disrupt passing lanes and force turnovers as the game progressed.
