St. Elizabeth Falls at Marymount, 79–66

Arlington, VA- The St. Elizabeth University women's basketball team dropped a road contest to Marymount University, 79–66, on Saturday afternoon at Converse Family Fieldhouse.

The Eagles came out strong offensively, shooting 45.5 percent from the field and knocking down five three-pointers in the opening quarter to take a 25–21 lead after one. Ahjionae Cobb helped set the tone early, scoring in multiple ways and attacking the glass as St. Elizabeth built its largest lead of the game at six.

Marymount responded in the second quarter, tightening defensively and holding the Eagles to 11 points while using a late scoring surge to take a 42–36 advantage into halftime.

Cobb led St. Elizabeth with a game-high 25 points, adding eight rebounds and three steals in a strong all-around performance. Elyssa Russo and Ty'la Holmes each finished with 11 points, while Yasminah White contributed seven assists to help keep the Eagles within striking distance.

The Eagles battled throughout the second half, cutting the deficit to as little as three early in the third quarter, but Marymount's efficiency inside proved decisive. The Saints finished with 42 points in the paint and shot over 57 percent from the field for the game, pulling away in the fourth quarter to secure the win.

The Eagles will return to action on Wednesday, February 4th, as they will head to Immaculata, PA, as they will face Immaculata University with tipoff set for 6:00PM.
