Eagles Drop Two In Goucher Tri-Match

Baltimore, MD- The Saint Elizabeth University Women's Volleyball Team traveled to Baltimore, MD, to compete in the Goucher Tri-Match on Saturday, September 6th.

SEU 0, Washington College (Md.) 3
  • The Eagles would lose their first match in three sets to Washington College.
  • Sienna Volpe & Marissa Jean Baptiste would each have three kills in the match with Jean Baptiste also picking up a block assist to give herself 3.5 points.
  • Marissa Heimbaugh & Alyssa Wells would lead the team in digs with six each.
SEU 2; Goucher 3

Set Results
  • The match was a stalemate throughout, with both teams exchanging sets.
  • Saint Elizabeth would take the first and third sets of the match winning by finals of 25-18 & 25-20.
  • Goucher would not go away however, winning the second set 25-23, and a crucial set four by a final of 25-16.
  • The fifth set would be a tight match up, with neither side giving an inch and leads only going as high as four points in the set, before Goucher would take the final set winning 16-14.
Top Performers
  • Alyssa Wells would lead the team in digs, securing a career high 37 in the match. Wells would also fill up the stat sheet by getting three assists on the night, as well as earning two points off of two service aces.
  • Dadlyna Louis would secure a Triple-Double for the Eagles, as she would get 17 points in the match, to go along with 13 digs, and 11 kills in the match. Louis would also pick up 5 solo blocks & one service ace in the match to add to her totals.
  • Marissa Heimbaugh would also secure a Triple-Double, earning herself 16 points off 10 kills, while also getting 18 digs on the defensive side. Heimbaugh was also able to do damage for the Eagles as she would have six service aces in the match, as well as an assist.
  • Sienna Volpe would fall one kill short of a Triple-Double, but would do just enough to pick up a double-double with 11 points & 14 digs. Volpe would also pick up nine kills & two service aces.
Up Next for Saint Elizabeth

The Eagles will head home for the first time as they will welcome in Pratt for a non-conference game on Tuesday, September 9th, with first serve set for 7:00PM.
