SEU XCTF and Brothership Inc. Host Powerful 3rd Annual Men on a Mission Conference

Overview

On Saturday, September 20, Saint Elizabeth University proudly hosted the 3rd Annual Men on a Mission Conference, presented by Brothership Inc. in collaboration with the SEU Cross Country & Track & Field program. The full-day event welcomed over 70 attendees throughout the day, including students, young professionals, community leaders, and vendors from across New Jersey and beyond.

The conference featured a dynamic mix of interactive panels, keynote sessions, student-led presentations, and wellness-centered breakout groups, all centered on the themes of purpose, identity, mental wellness, and leadership development. The event served not only as a professional networking opportunity, but also a space for healing, reflection, and building intentional relationships.

Student Leaders Recognized with State Proclamations

Two SEU student-athletes took center stage as featured presenters: Senior Zaa'min Jones delivered "Unraveling Masculine Identity," a deeply personal and insightful reflection on vulnerability, strength, and the complexity of modern manhood. Junior Tyler Andersen-Mayes gave an impassioned talk on environmental justice and sustainability, encouraging young men to lead change in their communities through awareness and action.

Both students were formally recognized with State of New Jersey proclamations, presented by Coach Evan Collier and issued by Senator Renee Burgess, honoring their leadership and impact on the Men on a Mission platform.

"Zaa'min and Tyler didn't just participate — they led with integrity and authenticity," said Coach Evan Collier, SEU XCTF Head Coach and President of Brothership Inc. "It's one thing to speak in front of a room full of professionals; it's another to move that room. These young men made their mark."

A Global Reach with Local Roots

The event's reach extended far beyond campus. The conference was livestreamed internationally, with participation from Brothership members based in Malawi, Africa — a powerful reminder that this movement isn't confined to one school or state, but is truly global in scope and spirit.

"Brothership was founded to create space for men to grow, support one another, and lead with purpose," said Everett Collier, Founder of Brothership Inc. "To see our mission now connecting people across continents — from New Jersey to Malawi — is a blessing and a reminder that we're building something far bigger than ourselves."

Vendor Engagement and Networking Opportunities

The conference also welcomed local vendors and resource providers, offering services that aligned with the event's themes of wellness, education, personal development, and entrepreneurship. Participants connected with mentors, speakers, and peers through intentional networking and shared reflections, reinforcing the value of building brotherhood through relationship and dialogue.

Looking Ahead

Now in its third year, The Brothership Conference continues to evolve — not just as a leadership event, but as a movement dedicated to empowering young men with the tools, community, and confidence to thrive.

Saint Elizabeth University Athletics and Brothership Inc. look forward to growing the impact of this experience, and expanding the space for purpose-driven men to connect, heal, and lead — both on campus and around the world.
