Eagles Secure Comeback Win vs. Patriots

Morristown, NJ- The Saint Elizabeth University Men's Volleyball team was able to pull off a comeback win vs. Valley Forge on Wednesday, March 26th, winning 3-2.

Game Breakdown
 
  • The Patriots were able to take the first two sets, winning by finals of 25-22 in set one, and by a final of 25-17 in set two. Both sets were ran heavily by the Patriots, going on multiple runs ranging from 3-0 runs to 4-0 runs.
  • The Eagles however would storm back down 2-0, and win force a fifth set, by taking a commanding 25-16 set three, thanks to the help of a 11-3 run early on. The Eagles would win a competitive overtime set four, by the final of 26-24, with leads being exchanged by both teams, and neither team being able to take more then a two point lead.
  • The Eagles would complete the comeback by taking a set five, by a final of 15-11, with Kennedy Ibezim getting the game winning kill to seal the win for the Eagles.
Team Leaders
  • Leading the way for the Eagles would be Kodi Peters, who would finish with 20.5 points on the night for the Eagles, with 19 of his points coming from kills vs. the Patriots. Peters would also pick up three blocking assists on the night to help the Eagles in the win. Peters would also tally a triple-double on the night, as he would add 14 digs to his performance.
  • Kennedy Ibezim would fall half a block short of also reaching the 20 point mark. However, Ibezim would be able to pick up a double-double on the night, picking up 19.5 points, which included 14 kills on the night, three service aces, two solo blocks, and one block assist.
  • Carlos Saldana would finish second for the Eagles, ending with a double-double as well, picking up 13 points, off of 11 kills and two block assists. Saldana would also pick up a service ace for the Eagles.
