Eagles Roll Past Elmira 85–66 Behind Dominant Guard Play

Morristown, N.J. — Saint Elizabeth University men's basketball put together one of its strongest performances of the season on Saturday afternoon, defeating Elmira College 85–66 inside Saint Joseph Gym.

SEU wasted no time setting the tone, racing out to a 44-point first half fueled by relentless defensive pressure. The Eagles forced 14 turnovers before the break—converting them into 20 points—to build a double-digit lead they would hold the rest of the way. Their aggressive style generated 12 steals overall and produced a season-best 27 points off Elmira miscues.

Guard Josiah King led all scorers with 24 points, shooting an efficient 8-of-14 from the field while adding four steals and three assists. Back court teammate Tye-Rell Monroe was equally impactful, finishing with 20 points, four assists, and three steals as he repeatedly attacked the rim and jump-started transition opportunities.

Guard Johnathan Quiles delivered a big scoring punch as well, posting 22 points and knocking down three shots from beyond the arc. In the frontcourt, Cam'Ron Martel anchored the defense with 11 rebounds and three blocks, helping limit Elmira's second-chance scoring and protect the paint throughout the afternoon.

Saint Elizabeth controlled the game statistically, shooting 42 percent (31-for-73) while knocking down 10 three-pointers. The Eagles also posted a positive rebounding margin (42–38) and committed just nine turnovers compared to Elmira's 19.

Elmira was led by Kelton Brown, who recorded a double-double with 25 points and 13 rebounds, but SEU's defensive pressure and balanced scoring proved too much for the Soaring Eagles to overcome.
