Eagles Sweep Panthers On The Road

Purchase, NY- The Saint Elizabeth Women's Volleyball Team picked up against the Purchase College Panthers on the road, sweeping the Panthers 3-0 to bring home the win.

With this win, the Eagles improve their record above .500 as they move to 6-5 on the season, while Purchase now drops to 1-7 on the season.

The Eagles would win a close first set, winning 25-20, after the first set it was domination from the Eagles, not allowing the Panthers to score more then 20 points the reminder of the match, winning sets two and three by scores of 25-10 & 25-16.

Marissa Heimbaugh picked up where she left off last weekend, picking up a double-double racking up 15 points while tallying 14 kills, and one service ace. Sienna Volpe also contributed double digits points in the win, scoring 10 points for the Eagles, off the strength of four kills and six service aces. Dadlyna Louis would also help the Eagles, contributing 8.5 points on the evening, tallying six kills, a block assist, a service ace, and a solo block on the evening. Onye Bosco was able to contribute four points off of four blocks on the night for the Eagles. While Ericka Menaling Trajano was able to pick up three service aces on the night, while also contributing the 11 assists on the night for the Eagles. Kristina Ashton was able to contribute one service ace for one point on the night, however was able to pick up 13 assists. Ashton, who broke the program record for most career assists was able to add to her total, going from 1,370 coming into tonight's contest, and now moving her total to 1,383. The Eagles would also get point contributions from Stephanie Jaramillo, Taylor Liriano, Alyssa Wells, and Sophie Galchus.

The Eagles will return to action on Tuesday, September 24th, as they will return home to face Marywood in a non-conference match-up from Saint Joseph Arena, with game time scheduled for 7:00PM.
