Wilkes Barre, PA.- The Saint Elizabeth Women's Volleyball team went 1-1 at the Kings Tri-Match. The Eagles defeated Penn State Schuylkill in five sets 3-2, and fell to Kings in three sets losing 3-0.
After the tri-match Saint Elizabeth starts the season 1-1, PSU Schuylkill starts the season 0-2, and Kings will start the season 2-0.
SEU 3, PSU-Schuylkill 2
PSU-Schuylkill would win the first set 25-23, Saint Elizabeth would even up the match at one set all winning the second set 25-22, the Nittany Lions would take a thrilling set three 26-24 now leading 2-1, but the Eagles would storm back and take sets four and five winning, the Eagles would win set four 25-16 and the deciding set five 15-4, to win the match three sets to two.
The Eagles had four athletes with 10+ Kills in the match with
Marissa Heimbaugh leading the team with 16 kills,
Taylor Liriano would tally 14,
Dadlyna Louis with 11, and
Milliana Senescat with 10.
Kristina Ashton would tally 50 assists in the match vs. PSU-Schuylkill. Louis would tally 8 service aces during the match.
The Eagles would outscore the Nittany Lions 79-42, including out scoring the Nittany Lions 40-20 in sets four & five. The Eagles would tally 59 tally kills to the Nittany Lions 32. The Eagles would also have more assists in the match then the Nittany Lions 55-25.
Kings 3, SEU 0
Kings would win in three sets by scores of 25-18, 25-10, and 25-6.
Taylor Liriano would lead the Eagles with five kills,
Marissa Heimbaugh would have four kills,
Dadlyna Louis,
Milliana Senescat, and
Sophie Galchus would all tally three kills in the loss.
Kristina Ashton would tally 14 assists during the match,
Ericka Menaling Trajano would tally two assists, and
Alyssa Wells would pick up one assist.
