The Saint Elizabeth University Men's Volleyball team traveled to Wilkes-Barre, PA Sunday for a tri-match at King's College (PA). The Eagles would take on Yeshiva University followed by the host King's College. In the first match, the Eagles dominated the Maccabees 3-0. Against King's College the Eagles dropped the match 0-3. After today's events, Saint Elizabeth sits at 3-9 overall.

Sam Lugo tied the school record with 10 service aces in the first match against Yeshiva. The Eagles have had two other 10-ace performances in program history. The first time was Josh Ramos against York College on January 28, 2018. The most recent time was when Chino Silgalivo recorded 10 aces versus Pratt Institute on February 22, 2018.

Kodi Peters led the Eagles with 10 kills, 5 digs, and 2 aces. Eusebio Veras had 7 kills, 2 aces and a block. Brad Mahoney also registered 7 kills. . Jerry Chablay led the Eagles in digs with 6. Diego Rondon and Alberto Torres Vidal helped out with recording 22 assists and 14 assists respectively.


In the second match, the Monarchs were able to cool the Eagles' hot start to the day. Eddy Pena and Eusebio Veras each finished with 5 kills on the match. Diego Rondon contributed 18 assists and 3 digs. Kodi Peters chipped in with 4 kills. Jerry Chablay had 4 digs on the match.


The Eagles will play next on Wednesday February 28 in a make up match against New Jersey City University. The original match was supposed to be held on February 13 but was postponed due to snowy weather. The match will begin at 7pm at the John J. Moore Athletics and Fitness Center in Jersey City, NJ.
