Morristown, NJ- The Saint Elizabeth University Men's Soccer team's season came to an end in the first round of the United East playoffs vs. Wilson College on Wednesday October 30th.
The Eagles finish the regular season with a 9-7-0 record following the loss. Following the win, Wilson moves to 7-11-0 overall on the season following the win.
The game would start off with the Phoenix picking up two major goals in the first half, and shutting out the Eagles throughout, only allowing the Eagles to take three shots in the half, as they would head into the break with a 2-0 lead. Things would pick up in the second half for the Eagles, as they would answer with a 2-0 shutout of their own in the second half, as the Eagles first goal of the night would come from
Brandon Quishpi late into the 56th minutes, with
Almir Mata picking up the assist. The game would remain 2-1 for about another 20 minutes, before
Sebastian Londono would strike with a goal halfway through the 76th minute, with Quishpi picking up the assist to pull the Eagles right back even at two. The game would remain knotted at two as the Eagles would only allow Wilson two shots in the half, as the Eagles would force overtime. The game would remain deadlocked, as with 20 seconds remaining in the first overtime, Wilson would strike with the game winning goal.
Andrew Gonzalez for the Eagles would tally three saves on the evening.
