Morristown, NJ- The Saint Elizabeth University Men's Basketball team kicked off the 2024-25 season on Monday, November 11th, as they faced Rutgers-Newark as they would come up short, falling by a final score of 82-72.
With the win, Rutgers-Newark improves their record on the season to 2-0. While the Eagles, following the loss, begin the year 0-1 on the season.
Tye-Rell Monroe would lead the Eagles in points tallying 31 points, going 11-16 from the field, going a perfect 6-6 at the free throw line, and 3-6 from three point range. Monroe was also able to pick up three steals and three rebounds on the night as well.
Jonathan Ramos would also contribute double-digits for the Eagles, as he would pick up 17 points on the night, going 7-13 from the field, with seven boards, four assists, a block, and two steals on the night.
Cam'Ron Martel, was able to earn a double-double for the Eagles, as he would earn 10 points off of 10 rebounds on the night, while going 5-8 from the field, with two blocks and an assist on the night.
Joe Mazzola was able to contribute five points for the Eagles, while also picking up two rebounds on the night.
Nate Thompson would tally four points for the Eagles on the night, as he would also pick up five boards, to go along with an assists, and a block on the night.
Malamin Kaba, picked up three points and one steal on the night for the Eagles, while Lawerence Reid picked up two points and one assist on the night.
