Morristown, NJ- The Saint Elizabeth University Women's Volleyball team picked up an intense five set victory over the Wilson Phoenix on Wednesday, October 9th, winning 3-2.
With this win, the Eagles now move to 7-9 on the season, snapping a four game losing streak, while also picking up their first win at home & first win in conference play, now posting a record of 1-2 on the season. As for the Phoenix, they drop to 1-16 overall on the season, while moving to 0-3 in conference play.
Four of the night's five sets would be decided by five points or less. The Eagles would take the first set winning by three, with the final being 25-22. Wilson would storm back and win the next two sets from Saint Elizabeth, winning set two 26-24, and set three 25-20, now holding a 2-1 advantage over the Eagles heading into set four. The Eagles would storm back and take set four convincingly, winning by a final of 25-7, the largest deciding set of the match. With both teams nodded at two heading into the fifth set, the Eagles would pull off a come from behind, extended 16-14 set five victory to take the set and the match.
The Eagles would have four players in double digits for points on the night. Leading the way for the Eagles, was Onyé Bosco, who would pick up a double-double for the Eagles, earning 13.5 points, off of 11 kills, two solo blocks, and a block assist.
Dadlyna Louis would fall one kill short of a double-double on the night. For Louis, she would tally 12 points, off of nine kills, two solo blocks, and two service aces.
Taylor Liriano would also pick up a double-double for the Eagles. Liriano would pick up ten points on the night, off of nine kills, as well a service ace, while picking up 20 digs on the night.
Marissa Heimbaugh would round out the double digit scorers for the Eagles, as well as tallying the third double-double of the night for the Eagles, picking up ten points, off of seven kills and three service aces, while also gaining 16 digs.
Stephanie Jaramillo would fall one point shy of double digits, as well as one kill shy from a double-double, as she would pick up nine points off of nine kills.
Ericka Menaling Trajano, would pick up eight points off of an impressive seven service aces, as well as one kill, in addition, Menaling Trajano also was able to pick up 13 assists on the night for the Eagles.
Sienna Volpe would pick up 7.5 points for Eagles, tallying six kills, a solo block, and a block assist.
Kristina Ashton would round out the scoring for the Eagles, picking up two points off two service aces, while also getting 26 assists on the night for the Eagles.
Alyssa Wells, able to contribute and lead the team in digs on defense with 21 digs on the night.

The Eagles will return to action on Saturday, October 12th, as they will travel to St. Mary's City, MD, to face St. Mary's College of Maryland, with game time scheduled for 1pm.
