Eagles Take Down Patriots On Senior Day

Morristown, NJ- The Saint Elizabeth Women's Soccer Team was able to gain an impressive 7-0 win on Senior Day vs. Valley Forge, on Saturday October 5th.

With this win, the Eagles, improve to 5-4-1 overall on the season, while falling to 2-1-0 in conference play. Meanwhile, for Valley Forge, they drop to 2-7-0 overall, with an 0-3-0 conference record on the season.

Emily Fearon would start off the scoring early for the Eagles, scoring with just under five minutes played in the first half. Laila Kendle, one of the two seniors recognized on Senior Day, would go on to score two straight for the Eagles, to give the Eagles a 3-0 advantage. Kendle's first goal of the day would come in the 26th minute, and her second would come off a penalty kick early in the 41st minute of the first half. Paige Neal, the other senior who was celebrated, was able to keep the scoring going for the Eagles in the first half, scoring in the 43rd minute, giving the Eagles a 4-0 advantage. The Eagles were not done scoring as Kendle, would score her third goal of the half, securing the hat trick, with 11 seconds remaining in the half, to give the Eagles a 5-0 advantage going into the break, Chelsea Sarmiento would pick up the assist on Kendle's goal. The teams would stay silent for over 20 minutes in the second half before Kendle would score her fourth goal of the afternoon, coming off an assist from Nacheca Joseph. The Eagles would cap off the day with one final goal from Neal in the 83rd minute. On defense, the Eagles would allow the Patriots only one shot on offense, which goalkeeper Leah Tate would successfully save.

The Eagles will return to action on Tuesday, October 8th, as they will head on the road to face Penn State Berks in Reading, PA, with game time scheduled for 5:00PM.
