St. Mary's City, MD- The Saint Elizabeth Men's Soccer team wrapped up the regular season at St. Mary's College of Maryland on Saturday, October 26th, falling by a final of 2-1.
With the win, the Seahawks finish the regular season with a 9-6-2 overall record, while posting an undefeated 8-0-0 record in conference play. The Eagles will finish the regular season with a 9-6-0 record, and a 6-2-0 conference record.
The first half would be quiet for both sides seeing a total of 12 shots from both squads, with
Andrew Gonzalez of Saint Elizabeth making two crucial saves in the first half, to keep the game nodded at zero heading into the break. It would not be until halfway into the 52nd minute that the Eagles, would score the first goal of the game by
Franco Arteaga, giving the Eagles a 1-0 advantage early into the second half. The Seahawks would go on to score two unanswered goals in the last 15 minutes of play, including a goal with a minute to go in the game. Gonzalez was able to make seven saves in the second half, bringing his total up to nine on the evening.
