Eagles Fall In Conference Opener To Penn State Harrisburg

Middletown, Pa.- The Saint Elizabeth University Women's Volleyball team opened conference play on Wednesday, October 2nd, against Penn State Harrisburg, losing a competitive three sets 3-0.

Following the win, the Nittany Lions will improve their overall record to 10-5 on the season, while rising to 1-0 in conference play. Meanwhile the Eagles fall to 6-8 overall, beginning conference play 0-1.

It was a competitive three sets, with all three sets being decided within a ten point margin, but in the end Harrisburg would complete the sweep, winning set one 25-15, set two 25-20, and set three by a final of 25-19.

Dadlyna Louis would lead the Eagles in points, while also picking up a double-double. This is Louis' fourth straight match picking up a double-double, tonight she would end her night with 10.5 points and 10 kills, her half point would come off of a block assist. Marissa Heimbaugh would finish behind Louis in points, picking up six on the night, tallying four kills and two service aces on the night. Sienna Volpe tallied four points for the Eagles, tallying three kills and a solo block on the night. Sophie Galchus & Milliana Senescat each also had three kills on the night as Galchus would also pick up an extra half a point of off a block assist. Alyssa Wells, Taylor Liriano, & Stephanie Jaramillo, all picked up a point for the Eagles on the night all off of a kill. Wells defensively was able to pick up 11 digs on the night for the Eagles. Kristina Ashton would pick up 18 assists on the night for the Eagles.

Up Next for The Eagles

The Eagles will return to action on Saturday, October 5th, as they will return to Saint Joseph's Hall, as they continue conference play, and welcome Lancaster Bible College, as the team will be hosting their Blue Out, with game time scheduled for 1:00pm.
