The Eagles took the field Wednesday for their first home match of the season against Sarah Lawrence College. They found the back of the net only 4 minutes in, with freshman
Sebastian Londono finishing an assist off of senior goalkeeper
Stephen Valencia Torres. Saint Elizabeth was able to score twice more in the first half: Senior
Ethan Mosquera fired a 25 yard shot to the upper corner in the 6th minute of play, and senior
Alejandro Lopez converted a penalty kick in the 42nd minute. A 23rd minute goal from Sarah Lawrence was not enough to deter the dominating Eagles side.
The second half saw SEU put away two more: Londono finished again in the 51st minute, and sophomore
Marvin Miranda put away the fifth goal in the 82nd. A late penalty kick goal for Sarah Lawrence in the 88th minute was not enough to lift the Gryphons past the Eagles.
Saint Elizabeth improves to 1-1-1 and looks to add another win on Saturday against John Jay at home.
