Flemington, N.J. – The College of Saint Elizabeth baseball team fell 6-4 and 7-0 in a pair of games against Dean College in non-conference play on Thursday afternoon at Diamond Nation.
In the opening game, the Eagles (2-10) led 3-1 after four innings, but Dean (3-6) scored three in the fifth to take a 4-3 lead. In the sixth,
Bryce Wheary (Ocean, N.J. / Ocean Twp) delivered a clutch two-out single to score the tying run. However, Dean tacked on two runs in the top of the seventh to secure the win.
In game two, Dean led 4-0 after the second inning, and did not allow Saint Elizabeth to get back within arm's reach.
Looking ahead, the Eagles open Colonial States Athletic Conference play on Saturday, March 21 at Clarks Summit at 12 p.m.
