Morristown, N.J. – The College of Saint Elizabeth women's basketball team held Cairn to 2-for-15 (13.3 percent) shooting to take a commanding 19-4 lead after the opening quarter on Tuesday night, and ultimately prevailed 71-44 inside Saint Joseph's Hall.
 
The Eagles (8-3, 5-0 CSAC) were paced offensively by senior guard Rakiyah Sellers (Newark, N.J./Newark Arts), who finished with a season-high 24 points, just one shy of tying her career-high. Junior forward Kamani Williams (Middletown, N.J./Middletown North) totaled nine points, 12 boards, four steals and three assists. Senior Kamille Jacobs (Hillside, N.J./Roselle Catholic) tallied 15 points and nine rebounds.
 
Saint Elizabeth never trailed and led by as many as 33 with five minutes to go in the second half. The Eagles held a 38-8 advantage in the paint and had 28 points off turnovers compared to five for Cairn (0-13, 0-5 CSAC).
 
Looking ahead, Saint Elizabeth travels to Notre Dame of Maryland on Thursday, Jan 9 at 7 p.m. The teams are tied for first place with identical 5-0 records in league play.
