Wilkes-Barre, Pa. – The College of Saint Elizabeth men's volleyball team lost in its season opener 3-2 against host King's on Saturday, but delivered a dominating 3-0 sweep over Lehman in its second match. Set scores of match one were 30-28, 27-25, 21-25, 26-28, 15-9. Set scores in match two were 25-14, 25-16, 25-22.
The Eagles (1-1) fell behind 2-0 in the opener against King's after each overtime set could have gone to either side. However, Saint Elizabeth fought back to win the third and squeeze out an overtime win in the fourth to force the deciding set. The fifth frame was tied at 6-6, but the Monarchs tallied nine of the next 12 points to hold on for the victory.

Kodi Peters led the Eagles with 17 kills while hitting an astonishing .560. Junior middle blocker
Justin Millan (Orange, N.J./West Caldwell Tech) racked up 15 kills and had three digs. Freshman setter
Charles Pampliega finished with 43 assists, six digs and two kills. Sophomore libero
Daniel Chavez (Bloomfield, N.J./Bloomfield) filled the box score with 18 digs, five assists and three kills.
In match two, Saint Elizabeth cruised to victory behind 11 kills, five service aces and three digs from freshman opposite
James Bonilla (West New York, N.J./Bloomfield).
