KEUKA PARK, N.Y. - The College of Saint Elizabeth's softball team (24-8, 11-1 NEAC) rolled to another sweep, defeating Keuka College, 5-3 and 3-1 on Thursday afternoon.
In th third inning of game one,
Karyn Shimazu lined a two-run double to left to give the Eagles a 2-0 lead. Â Later in the inning,
Jontae Patton and
Kathryn Harrigan had run scoring hits to open up a 5-0 advantage.
Keuka would add runs in the sixth and seventh inning to get within two, but would not get closer as the Eagles held on for the 5-3 win.
Alyssa Hampton earned her seventh win of the season on the mound, giving up just one earned run while striking out three over seven innings.
In game two, the Eagles struck again in the third inning as
Teya Carr lined a RBI single to take a 1-0 lead. Â In the fourth inning, the Eagles put across two additional runs to up the lead to three.
On the mound,
Laura Costello surrendered just one run over 6.1 innings. Â
Alyssa Vega came in relief for the finally two outs, earning her second save of the season.
CSE returns to action on Saturday when it travels to Penn State Avington for a 1 pm start.
