MORRISTOWN, N.J. - The College of Saint Elizabeth's men's volleyball team (3-7, 0-5 NEAC) defeated York College in four sets (25-17,19-25, 25-15, 25-16) on Wednesday evening.
After York led early, the Eagles used three straight points to take a 14-12 lead midway through the first set. Â With
Daniel Chavez serving, the Eagles rolled off six of the next seven points to open up a 20-13 lead. Â CSE controlled the remainder of the set, taking a 1-0 advantage, 25-17.
In the second set, the Cardinals controlled most of the set, taking a 16-9 lead. Â The Eagles battled back over the next 11 points, winning eight to get within 19-17. Â Despite closing the gap, York took six of the final eight points to take the set, 25-19.
CSE started the third set on fire, scoring the first seven points to take a 7-0 advantage. Â After York cut the lead to four, the Eagles scored three straight points to take an 18-11 lead, leading to a York timeout. Â CSE continued to build momentum to build momentum throughout the set, taking it, 25-15.
To begin set four, the Eagles won eight of the first 11 points to open up an early 8-3 lead.  Both teams played even over the next 14 points as the Eagles lead 15-10 midway through the set.  Leading 16-14 the Eagles ran off the next seven points to open up a 23-14 lead.  CSE managed to take two of the final four points to take the set, 25-16 and win the match, 3-1.
Chavez led the Eagles with 16 assists and 11 kills. Â
Frank Rossi Jr. added 22 assists and nine kills while
Justin Millan finished with seven digs and three blocks.
CSE returns to action on March 12 when it travels to CCNY for a 7 pm start.
