Selinsgrove, Pa. – The College of Saint Elizabeth women's basketball team fell 80-66 in the tournament championship game to host Susquehanna on Sunday evening. Junior forward
Kamani Williams (Middletown, N.J./Middletown North) and senior
Kamille Jacobs (Hillside, N.J./Roselle Catholic) were named to the All-Tournament Team.
The Eagles (3-3) trailed by 17 at halftime, but used an incredible 33-point quarter to narrow the lead to just one after the third quarter, 52-51. However, Susquehanna (3-1) held Saint Elizabeth to 21.4 percent shooting over the final 10 minutes, while shooting 54.5 percent from the field. The Eagles made 8-of-10 free throws in the period, but could not keep pace.
Jacobs (Hillside, N.J./Roselle Catholic) finished with a game-high 20 points on 6-for-12 shooting. She also grabbed eight rebounds and two steals. Williams (Middletown, N.J./Middletown North) collected 14 points and 12 boards, while sophomore
Maria DeVincenzo (Tampa, Fla./Life Center Academy) and senior
Rakiyah Sellers (Newark, N.J./Newark Arts) each scored 11 points.
Up next, Saint Elizabeth will play its first Colonial State Athletic Conference game when it hosts Wilson on Saturday, Dec. 7 at 1 p.m.
