Langhorne, Pa. — The College of Saint Elizabeth women's volleyball team captured the institution's first-ever Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) victory with a thrilling 3-2 finish at Cairn on Thursday night. Set scores were 22-25, 25-16, 22-25, 25-22, 15-7.
The Eagles (5-5, 1-0 CSAC) trailed Cairn (3-14, 0-1 CSAC) after the first and third sets, but rallied each time to force a deciding fifth frame. The final set was tied, 3-3, but the Eagles finished strong, ending the match on a 12-4 stretch.
Senior
Yas Muhammad (Newark, N.J.) totaled a team-high 15 kills while hitting .263. Sophomore
Charelle Charles (Elmwood Park, N.J.) hit .423 and finished with 14 kills. Senior
Stephanie Mitarotonda (East Rutherford, N.J.) filled the box score with nine kills, seven service aces and 17 digs.
Sophomore
Chantel Charles (Elmwood Park, N.J.) added nine kills and eight digs, while junior
Maura Farley (Iselin, N.J.) contributed 26 assists.
