READING, P.A. - The College of Saint Elizabeth's women's basketball team (7-4, 6-1 NEAC) used a strong second half to earn its fourth straight conference win, 74-62 over Penn State Berks on Monday afternoon.
Deja Ingram and
Kamille Jacobs each finished with 16 points and nine rebounds. Â
Maria DeVincenzo added 16 points and four assists while
Kamani Williams added nine points and three steals.
After close back and forth action to begin the first quarter, the Eagles scored six of the final eight to take a 17-12 lead into the second quarter. Â Despite leading by as much as five in the second quarter, the Nittany Lions fought back to take a two-point lead with four minutes remaining. Â CSE closed out the half on a 9-7 run to tie the game at 34, heading into halftime.
 Trailing 37-36 to open the third quarter, the Eagles ran off an 8-0 run to take a 44-37 lead, its largest of the game.  CSE continued to build the lead, taking as big as a 16 point lead before leading 59-48 heading into the final period.
With seven minutes to play, the Eagles lead 69-50, its largest lead of the contest. Â Despite scoring just five points the rest of the way, the Eagles would not let Berks get within single-digits, closing out the game, 74-62.
CSE returns to action on Wednesday when it hosts Lancaster Bible College at 5 pm.
